Naomi Van Zandt '25 qualified for the CIF State Wrestling tournament for the third time in her career this past Saturday at the Central Coast Section Masters Tournament. The Brown University commit earned the bronze medal in the 170 class by going 4-1, with the one loss via a 2nd period pin by the eventual CCS Champion from Alisal High School. Along the way, Van Zandt defeated the King City wrestler with a pin in 43 seconds, the Monterey HS competitor with a 7-1 decision, a 9-4 decision over the San Jose HS opponent and a 2nd period pin over the Christopher HS wrestler.

Van Zandt will travel to Bakersfield on Wednesday to be ready for the 9am start of the CIF State Girls Wrestling Tournament to be held at Mechanics Bank Arena on February 27, 28 and 29.
