It was another busy and competitive week for the Fightin' Irish, with several teams delivering strong performances across the board.
Boys golf split their dual matches against their crosstown rivals, edging out Riordan by two strokes before falling to St. Ignatius. Leading the way for the Irish was senior Sean Butler '26, who posted the team's low score with an impressive 40 while battling rainy conditions at TPC Harding Park.
Boys tennis continued their winning ways, picking up another conference victory by defeating Riordan, 5 sets to 2. The team wrapped up WCAL play on Monday and will now shift their focus toward the postseason.
On the diamond, baseball faced a demanding stretch, playing three games in less than 24 hours after a midweek bye. The Irish dropped their Friday league match up against St. Ignatius but bounced back Saturday morning with a 3–2 win over Vacaville High. Senior Cooper Rogers Lewis '26 was stellar on the mound, throwing five innings while allowing just four hits and two runs. He struck out seven without issuing a walk. Jacob Vines '26 and Max Nylander '26 each added a hit and an RBI, while Alexei Tioupine '26 earned the save.
Boys Lacrosse celebrated Senior Day in style, dominating visiting Hillsdale with a 12–2 victory. The Irish will close out league play this week with a road match up against Sacred Heart Prep.
William Lofberg '27 turned in the performance of the week for the Track and Field team. He swept both of his events against Mitty, recording a top throw of 48 feet, 5 inches in the shot put and 149 feet, 5 inches in the discus. His performances place him among the top 20 in both events. This earns him our SHC Athlete of the Week honors.
Go Irish!
