The Sacred Heart Cathedral track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the Flying Knights Relays held at Hillsdale High School on March 14, showcasing both depth and dominance across the meet.
The Irish brought home 80 total medals, with 49 different athletes earning at least one podium finish. Sacred Heart Cathedral captured 45 gold medals and finished first in 14 of the 36 events the team entered, while medaling in 24 of those 36 events overall.
Two standout performances resulted in new meet records. The Varsity Boys 4x800 relay set a new mark with a time of 8:13.87, while the Varsity Girls 4x400 relay followed with a record-breaking 4:07.90.
SHC also displayed its depth in the distance events, going 1–2–3 in the Frosh/Soph Boys Mile, and capped off the day with a commanding showing in the relays by sweeping all divisions of the 4x400 relay.
The strong results highlighted a balanced effort from across the program and provided an exciting early-season benchmark for the Irish as they continue their 2026 track and field campaign.
Congrats and GO IRISH!
