The SHC boys soccer team posted two solid non-league wins heading into the Christmas break this week. The team defeated Aragon 2-0 on the road Tuesday evening and Marin Academy 6-1 out at Beach Chalet on Friday evening.

In the win over Aragon, the Irish dominated possession but weren't able to convert in the first half hour of play.  The first goal finally came in the 31st minute with Cole Imrey '26 finding the back of the net on a cross by Conor Rogers '27.  The insurance goal came in the second half on a 45 yard blast by Ryan Scott '26 that found the upper far corner of the net.

On Friday versus Marin Academy, the Irish dominated possession again, but were more successful finding the net.  The six goals came from five different players:  Cruz Tengco '26, Jensen Bauer '26, Isaac Mye '26, William Snavely '28, Tengco again, and Diego Iniguez '24. 

Head Coach Jose Nino was pleased with the improvement the team is showing. "Everyone is starting to understand their roles both on and off the field, and the team performance on the field is reflecting that."

The Irish are back in action today at 1:30pm when they take on the University HS Red Devils at Beach Chalet field #2.  At the same time on the adjacent field, SHC girls soccer will play Burlingame on Beach Chalet field #1.  SHC girls soccer has outscored their early season opponents 36-1 and sit 6-0-1 on the season to date.  

And mark your calendar for SHC's January 10 Soccer Saturday when SHC soccer takes on St. Ignatius at Beach Chalet.  Girls play at 10am and boys play at 12 noon.
