On November 7, 2025, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory faced off against St. Ignatius College Preparatory in the highly anticipated annual Bruce Mahoney football game. The Irish fought long and hard but were unable to come out on top, losing 23–14. Even in defeat, the team showcased impressive effort, especially when they outscored St. Ignatius by eight points in the third and fourth quarters.

Like always, SHC students and parents made their presence known with rambunctious cheers throughout the entire game. The Dance Team, SHC Band, and Student Council ensured that everyone in the stands expressed their Irish pride at every opportunity. To add to the excitement, a guest appearance from San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie instantly elevated the atmosphere of an already electric rivalry.
