It has been a boom or bust preseason for the Scared Heart Cathedral who sit at 4-3 with five more preseason games before WCAL play begins.

In wins against Galileo, University, Lick-Wilmerding, and El Camino the Irish have only given up a total five runs while scoring a whopping 62 runs. However, in losses the Irish have given up 34 runs while only scoring three.

Through the seven games, Adriana Giomi '25 leads the SHC offense with 10 hits through her fist 22 at-bats while driving in eight runs, four doubles, a triple, and a homerun. Wanda Wilson '25 has also been a standout performer for the Irish offense with a .500 batting average in her first 16 at-bats while collecting six RBIs, two doubles, and scoring 10 runs. Grace McCusker '24 has also started the season strong driving in seven runs with her five hits while also adding a triple.

On the pitching side, it has not been the smoothest start to the season. When the offense plays well so does the pitching, but so far in losses both have struggled mightily. Kaylen Edora '27 has been the Irish's best pitcher so far this season with an 1.35 ERA in her 10.1 innings pitched and 20 strikeouts.

The Irish are back in action on the road Thursday afternoon against Notre Dame Belmont at 4:00pm.
