The Sacred Heart Cathedral swim team swam in the WCAL Trials last Thursday and Friday and the Irish moved on to compete in 29 events at the WCAL Finals on Saturday.
Several Irish swimmers set new school records during the WCAL competition.
- Konstantin Kornach '26 broke the SHC school record in the 200 yard freestyle held by Jonah Lee '23 with a time of 1:47.53, which put him in the top 10 at the WCAL Championship and qualified him for the Central Coast Section Championships. Kornach also qualified for CCS in a second event, the 100 butterfly.
- Berlyn Ring '27 broke a 10+ year old school record in the 100 free with a time of 55:88, placing 7th overall.
- Isabella Devlin '27 broke a 15+ year old school record with a 1:12.58 in the 100 breast stroke, placing 8th overall.
