Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHC) is proud to announce the appointment of Tanya Susoev '04 as Head Girls Flag Football Coach. A dynamic leader, experienced player and innovative program builder, Susoev brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the rapidly growing sport of flag football to the Fightin' Irish community.
Susoev enters her 4th year coaching high school flag football and most recently served as SHC's Offensive Coordinator, where she played an integral role in developing student-athletes through strategic game planning, film analysis, and skill-based training. Her promotion to head coach reflects her strong leadership, commitment to student development, and deep understanding of the game at both the local and national levels.
"Tanya is a mission-driven leader who brings energy, vision, and a deep commitment to building a positive and competitive program," said Athletic Director Margi Beima. "Her experience as both a coach and high-level player will help her lead the SHC flag football program forward."
Beyond SHC, Susoev is actively involved in the broader flag football community. She recently joined the Golden State Storm's Flag Football Operations staff, supporting the program development within the professional women's tackle and flag football leagues. She is also a captain and quarterback in the San Francisco Womxn's Flag Football League, where she both competes and supports player growth and development. Susoev's resume also includes coaching with the NFL Flag Football Association and leading the launch of a girls flag football program at San Francisco University High School. She excels in program development, team culture building and competitive strategy, highlighted by her ability to develop players of all skill levels while fostering strong team cohesion.Â
"I am incredibly honored to step into this role at Sacred Heart Cathedral," said Susoev. "This program has a strong foundation, and I am excited to build and foster a culture of confident, disciplined and community-minded student athletes."
With Susoev at the helm, SHC looks forward to continued growth and success in its girls flag football program.
