About Sacred Heart Cathedral Athletics
At Sacred Heart Cathedral, we believe that participating in athletics contributes to physical, personal, social and spiritual growth. More than 700 students ― a little over half the total student body ― compete for the Fightin’ Irish on 56 teams in 23 sports. These student-athletes add their own chapters to the storied history of the SHC athletic program, a tradition of teaching more than just the game which dates back to the 1880s. SHC teams compete in the West Catholic Athletic League.
